By car


Traveling by car is a convenient and quick option. The route leads along the A1 motorway to Toruń, then the S10 to Płońsk and then the S7 to the capital itself.

If you value comfort and independence, this is one of the best options. The standard of roads is very good.


By public transport


  • Train : Express trains will get you there in about 2.5 hours. Cost? From 50 to 80 PLN.

  • Bus : the journey takes much longer, up to 5 hours, and the price ranges between PLN 110 and PLN 170.

  • Plane : the fastest way (about an hour's flight), but ticket prices start from PLN 280.

If time is of the essence, choose the train or plane.

How to get from Gdańsk to Kraków?


Krakow is a city with a soul – the former capital of Poland, full of history and a unique atmosphere. A walk through the Old Town, a visit to Wawel Castle or a trip to Kazimierz are just some of the attractions that await you.


By car


The route leads via the A1 motorway to Łódź, then the S8 expressway to Piotrków Trybunalski and then the DK1 to Kraków.

Even though the journey is longer, the route is comfortable and allows you to enjoy the ride.


By public transport


  • Train : takes about 5.5 hours. Price? From 150 PLN.

  • Bus : cheaper (100–150 PLN), but takes 8 hours.

  • Plane : no direct connections between cities.

Here the train clearly wins – a good balance between price and travel time.

How to get from Gdańsk to Wrocław?


Wrocław is a charming city in western Poland, known for its colorful tenement houses, bridges, and cute gnomes scattered throughout the city center. It is open, creative, and attracts both tourists and students.


By car


It is best to take the A1 to Łódź and then the S8 to Wrocław.


  • Distance: approx. 480 km

  • Travel time: about 5.5 hours

  • Cost: approx. PLN 30 for the motorway + approx. PLN 250 for fuel


It's a reasonable combination in terms of time, cost and comfort.


By public transport


  • Train : takes about 5 hours. Cost is at least 120 PLN.

  • Bus : the journey takes up to 7 hours and the price is 90–130 PLN.

  • Airplane : no direct flights.

The train wins again — faster and more comfortable than the bus.

How to get from Gdańsk to Lublin?


Lublin is one of the oldest cities in Poland, with an atmospheric Old Town full of charming tenement houses and cafes. You will also find a castle that dominates the city and a lot of cultural events.


There are several ways to get from Gdańsk to Lublin:


  • By car – the route is approximately 520 km long and takes an average of 6–7 hours. The most frequently chosen route is via the A1 and S17.

  • By train – PKP offers direct connections that take about 7–8 hours. Travel time depends on the type of train.

  • By bus – there are buses from companies such as FlixBus, although usually with a transfer in Warsaw. The entire journey takes about 9 hours.


How to get from Gdańsk to Białystok?


Białystok is the capital of Podlasie – a region full of forests, churches and borderland culture. The city combines multiculturalism, interesting monuments and access to the Knyszyńska Forest.


You can get from Gdańsk to Białystok:


  • By car – covering about 430 km in 5-6 hours. The most frequently chosen route is via the S7 and S8.

  • By train – unfortunately there are no direct connections. The best way is to take a train to Warsaw and then change to a train to Białystok. The whole journey takes 6–7 hours.

  • By bus – options are limited, but connections with transfers are possible, usually in Warsaw.


How to get from Gdańsk to Zakopane?


Zakopane is the winter capital of Poland, located at the foot of the Tatra Mountains. It is an ideal place for fans of mountains, skiing, hiking and regional cuisine.


You can get to Zakopane from Gdańsk:


  • By car – you will have to drive for about 700 km, which translates into 8-9 hours on the road. The best way is to take the A1 and Zakopianka (national road 47).

  • By train – connections are available with transfers, usually in Krakow or Warsaw. Travel time is around 11–13 hours.

How to get from Gdańsk to Częstochowa?
